Dr. Nitin Unkule

Dr. Nitin Unkule has received rigorous and very high disciplined training and education in the field of Vedanta and Yoga by Swami Satswaroopananda Saraswati. He is practising Yoga since 1978.

He has represented India as a cultural ambassador to France in 1984 Conducted over 95 seminars and workshops in, Europe, UK and USA, Norway and Holland, on Yoga & Vedanta.

Honoured by French TV and German Newspapers in 1989 and 1990 Presented a paper on Scientific Survey of Yogic Asanas in Bangkok as the World Congress on Alternate Medicine in August 1995 CD-ROM on Yoga has received best CD award in Australia. Yoga for Cardiologists in Chicago and Meditation Camp in Seattle, USA in August / September 1998

Received “Professional Excellence Award” in 1992 from Rotary International foundation, USA, as they are celebrating 100 years’ of services.

Research Papers Presented

  • "Cardiac Yoga" at the International Seminar held in Pune on Cardio-vascular diseases at Hotel Holiday Inn.

  • "Scientific Research in Yogic Asanas" at an International Seminar on Alternate Medicine held in Pune at Hotel Le' Meridian.

  •  At Global Forum for Health Research, Forum 5, Conference held at Geneva, Switzerland, held in Oct. 2001, called by WHO, on Heart Disease and Neurological disorders.

  • At Global Forum for Health Research, Forum 5, Conference held at Mexico, USA, in Nov. 2004, called by WHO, on Heart Disease.

Current Activities

  • Managing Committee Member, Symbiosis International Society Managing Trustee, Symbiosis International University.

  • Running a program named “Reversal of Heart Disease” since 1999  for heart patients at Poona Hospital & Research Center and until now rehabilitation done for over 15,000 heart patients.

  • Also working with Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar at Galaxy Cancer Care Unit on Cancer care with Yoga & Pranayam techniques.

  • Ex chairman Marattha Chamber of Commerce , Pune – Health Care Committee

  • Until now written 15 books on Yoga in Marathi & English.
